Vintage Hair How-To
For all you closeted, want-to-be hairdressers out there, have I got a great new book for you: It’s called Vintage Hairstyling; Retro Styles with Modern Techniques, by Lauren Remmells ($36, vintagehairstyling.com). It came out just a few months ago, but recently I sat down with it and became obsessively inspired to get out my rattail comb and start making pin-curls. If you love–pero, love–the old school pin-up girls of the ’40s and ’50s then you’ll be immediately drawn to these explicitly clear, step-by-step photographs depicting how to get the era’s most famously glamorous ‘dos.
