Ladies, let the countdown begin! Or should I say the American countdown, because it looks like the Brits have one on us. Yes, Sex and the City: The Movie recently premiered in London’s Leicester Square. ‘What?!’ you’re probably yelling. ‘Not in New York–como puede ser that the fashionable girls across the pond got to see it before us?’ I’m not mad–after all, I’m still planning a cocktail party in celebration of the movie’s arrival. More than its UK locale, what really got my attention about the premiere was the botanical garden-inspired, bonkers hat by Philip Treacy that Sarah Jessica Parker donned on the red carpet! Hello, where did that come from?!? SJP totally channeled Carrie Bradshaw by wearing a scene from Pan’s Labyrinth on her head and pairing it with a veggie-green Vivienne Westwood dress. Looking ferociously fashion-forward, she left her cast members in the dust.

After I got over the headpiece situation, I finally noticed what the other SATC ladies were wearing. How about Kim Catrall in Vivienne Westwood and Kristin Davis in vintage, both wearing red. Did they not call each other before their arrival? I wonder what Catrall was thinking…Cynthia Nixon opted for a sexified Calvin Klein dress that gave new meaning to ‘low-cut.’ Watching the entire spectacle brought me right back to ‘03–I got a serious case of “Carrie fever,” as the great Jay-Z once said.
