You know the saying, ‘Don’t leave home without it?’ Well, I can pretty much apply that to anything. I’m an over-packer; if there’s a chance I’ll need something, it’s going in the bag. A cable-knit sweater to Puerto Rico? Of course–what if I get cold in the air conditioning? High heels on a camping trip? Hello, I’m not wearing sneakers in the car on the way to the mountain! You see what I mean. However, if there were just one cosmetic item I could bring with me on a desert island, it would be Benefit’s Realness of Concealness ($30, sephora.com), the mini “fake-it” kit. Inside are miniature versions of their High Beam highlighter, Ooh La Lift eye cream and Lip Plump, along with some Boi-ing concealer and skin-perfecting Lemon Aid. Chicas, I can’t leave home without it. It covers the blemishes, brightens the eyes and juicifies the lips. If you had nothing else on your face, you’d be fine…and as you contemplate a way to get off the island, you’ll look gorgeous.
