When I first heard that Eva Mendes was playing a husband-stealing tart in the upcoming movie “The Women,” I cringed a little. Why did the lone Latina in an all-female cast have to play the slut? And then I remembered that, Oh yeah, my girl-crush on Eva aside, I do know that she’s not exactly gonna be duking it out with Cate Blanchett for an Oscar anytime soon. And, well, look how good girlfriend looks in this still from the movie. All the other women —Meg Ryan, Debra Messing, Annette Bening, Jada Pinkett Smith, Carrie Fisher and Candace Bergen—are doggies next to her. Plus, now that she’s getting her life back in order in rehab, the acting gods might smile down on her.
