I like movie awards shows. I like watching stars one-upping each other in gorgeous couture dresses on the red carpet. I like watching the movie clips when the nominees are announced. I even like the dead-people montage. Who are these people always complaining about how they hate bad awards shows? Would they rather watch orange-tan airheads like Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell read off a bunch of nominees and winners and make totally ignorant comments. If nothing else, NBC’s cut-rate Golden Globes show showed just how lost on-air “talent” is without writers. “At the end of the day,” Billy Bush actually said of Cate Blanchett, “she was just a woman playing a man.” I’d rather hear a lame joke or watch a bad dance number.
