We interrupt this regularly scheduled movie blog…
…to celebrate the most exciting TV news! Nope, it’s not the return of “The David Letterman Show”—though it’s awesome that the late-night host, who owns his show, negociated his own contract with striking writers so the show could go on.
It’s the long-awaited return of “Lost.” ABC just announced that it will be back on Jan. 31, taking over “Grey’s Anatomy’s” coveted 9 p.m. Thursday time slot. The network originally planned for a February return, but with the writers’ strike not ending anytime soon, shows have all but run out of episodes shot beforehand. ABC needs as much fresh material as soon as possible. Enter the world’s awesomest show, which managed to shoot eight episodes before the strike began. “Lost’s” executive producers say they would rather have the show come back when all 16 episodes have been shot, but sorry guys, with the striking writers hunkering down for a long fight, that could be 2017 for all we know. We have so many questions: Will the castaways make contact again with the freighter? Is Charley really dead? When will Sawyer take off his shirt again? It should be an amazing season: It feature flashforwards as well as the show’s trademark flashbacks, giving us a whole new crop of mysteries to try to figure out. What are you most looking forward to on the show?
