Pitbull Gets Mushy on His New Album
Let’s be real: Pitbull isn’t the smoothest MC in the world (“Let me see you get freaky, baby! Let me see you get nasty, mama!” aren’t exactly hallmarks of subtlety). But it looks like the Cuban MC is learning to slow his roll with the ladies. His new album, Boatlift, is dropping November 27 (that Miami Vice-looking photo up above is the official cover), and his first single is the slow-burner ballad “Secret Admirer,” which features R&B crooner Lloyd singing a hook (lifted almost directly from the Ghost Town DJ’s 1996 hit “My Boo”—remember that music video where the girls were washing cars and chillin at a beach party? That was my jam!). More importantly, it features a suspiciously mellow Pitbull tapping into his inner LL Cool J, with rhymes that are straight whispery and—dare I say it?—romantic. The spring break shout-alongs that defined all of Pitbull’s past singles are nowhere to be found on this record. And guess what? We kind of like that. It makes us wonder what else Pitbull’s been hiding, and whether it will show up on the rest of the new album. Take a listen for yourself, and let us know what you think:

One of the things that attracted me to Pitbull, is his skill in rhyming and even though when he raps in Bojangles and in Toma, it’s the opposite of romantic, but the way he expresses it, it’s sexy and turns you on..i.e. “preparate mujer que mi lengua esta fuerte..” and whether you don’t like machos, this macho is an exception, he’s the macho you’ll let slide and want to be around with, it’s all about that latin sabor, and cubanito’s style! I can say that I love Pitbull because of his persona and of his talent in rhyming and writing verses…i.e. Raindrops, that has such a powerful verse, “What’s Love with no Hate, What’s Courage with no Fear? ….Keep your head up, it’s gonna be alright.” Wow, I can’t get enough of his words.Regardless what Pitbull does, IT’S GONNA BE GREAT AND HE’S SKILLED IN ANY GENRE, HIP HOP, RAP, R&B, HE COULD PULL ANYTHING OFF, AND IF YOU SAY , NA HE CAN’T, HE DO IT TO PROVE YOUR ASS WRONG, NO SE JUEGA CON ESE CUBANO!

OMG! Pitbull’s new song is so good, i heard it when he first put it up on his myspace and i feel in love with him even more and more and more. I already love pitbull. Everytime he comes to Dallas, I go to his show. So far, my favorite show has been the one he did for mardi gras in dallas in Feb. Man, he gave me beads which i have hangin on my rear view mirror, and i got his autograph and 2 kisses! I almost melted. I have 3 posters in my room, 3 autographed pictures, and pictures that i took with him on my cell phone..only that cell phone broke..sorry. Since 2004 when I first heard the energy behind the arist, Pitbull. I became fasinated by the performer that calls himself, Pitbull. I wanted to know all I could, so I did my research, rented Mr.305, got on Myspace in hopes of someday being the one fan, he got to meet in person and have a conversation with outside of the club. His three words of wisdom passion, patience, and perserverence equal succes, holding true to anyone wanting to pursue their dreams. I look up to him and admire that he has been able to accomplish all he has set out to do through his own drive. Through the years, I’ve read every article that featured him, trying to know the man behind the artist Pitbull, Armando Perez. Pitbull is versatile, driven, political and humble. I like the fact he emphasises the importance of investments in property, savings, and the future. La Esquina, was an eye opener, he could’nt of done a better job. Id just like the oppurtunity to sit down with Armando, have a conversation and later party with the performer, Pitbull. Latina magaizine will be making that reality happen, and hopefully to a very deserving mujer.
