When the leaves begin to change color and the temperture goes below 50 degrees, there’s only one thing on my mind: buying a new pair of gloves! Primarily because I’ve either lost my old pair or I just simply want new ones. But no matter the reason, it’s a purchase that just has to be made. This season, gloves have taken on a new, sophisticated look. They’re no longer just about keeping you warm; gloves have become a fashion staple. This season the MUST-have accessory (besides the oxford shoe) is a pair of long opera gloves. From Burberry Prorsum to Carolina Herrera, long, elegant gloves were all over the fall runway collections. You’ll notice that raincoats and coats with three-quarter sleeves are a perfect way to incorporate a pair of long gloves into your outfit. The trend will make you look and feel like a sophisticated lady right away. My picks? Jewel-tone colored gloves in purple or patent leather (don’t worry you won’t look like a dominatrix). The best part? You can wear long gloves with anything and it adds instant glam to any outfit.
